With the latest enhancements to Mail in Daylite, your Daylite Dock icon badge can now show your unread email count, Daylite notifications, or both, right in your Mac Dock.
By going to Daylite > Settings > Notifications, you can customize your display to indicate your unread email count and/or Daylite notifications directly on the Daylite app icon.

This isn’t just a simple badge notification, it’s a real-time signal of everything that needs your attention. It’s prioritization at your fingertips!
Why This Badge Changes How You Work
This isn’t about reacting faster. It’s about staying aware without losing focus. With a quick glance at your Dock, you can: Know when new emails arrive, see when Daylite activity needs attention with intention, stay in your flow, and choose when to step in. That means instead of constantly being pulled in different directions without focus, you stay in control of when and how you engage, with what.
Turn That Awareness into Action with Daylite as Your Default Email App
That awareness becomes even more powerful when Daylite is set as your default email app.

Because when you click an email link anywhere on your Mac—Safari, Messages, or elsewhere—it opens directly in Daylite. So when you act, you’re already in the right place to:
- Link the email to the right contact
- Connect it to a project or opportunity
- Keep a complete, searchable history
No switching tools. No retracing steps or piecing together details. Just connected work from the start.
Stay Focused Inside Every Conversation
Mail in Daylite now gives you more flexibility in how conversations are displayed, with a new setting that lets you choose whether the newest messages appear at the top or bottom of an email thread. Some people prefer seeing the latest reply first. Others naturally read conversations from oldest to newest. Now, you can work the way that feels most intuitive to you.
And as conversations grow longer, Daylite helps keep important context close at hand. As you scroll through a thread, a floating conversation header stays visible, showing the email subject along with its “In Daylite” status. At any point, you can click the header to quickly jump back to the top of the conversation, where you’ll also find a summary of linked attachments, tasks, and appointments connected to the thread.
It keeps long conversations easier to navigate, while ensuring the important details tied to your work stay easy to access.
One Small Badge, Total Awareness
This isn’t just about taming the endless notifications we deal with daily. It’s about having a single, reliable signal for both communication and activity, right in your Dock.
You stay aware without distraction, act without friction, and keep everything connected—so your inbox becomes a place where work moves forward, not where it piles up.
